Arthur, a homeowner in California, was working on a backyard landscaping project that included a firepit area, a pergola, and a flagstone pathway. He wanted a durable and supportive surface for placing his firepit and Adirondack patio chairs. After researching various options, Arthur chose to install our EasyPave permeable paver system.
The Challenge
Arthur wanted his firepit area to have a solid, stable foundation to prevent the furniture from sinking under weight. He also prioritized proper drainage to ensure the space remained usable after rain, avoiding mud, mush, or sunken aggregate. Additionally, he was adamant about keeping the pea gravel in place to reduce maintenance and clearly define the different sections of his outdoor space.
The Solution
After researching the product online, Arthur decided to use our EasyPave Grid System. He was drawn to the product’s tight pattern spacing and the fact that it was readily available. Arthur selected the gray pavers to blend seamlessly with the surrounding gravel for a more natural look. His landscaping contractor handled the installation. Although the crew had never worked with a grid system before, they quickly learned how to lock the edges together. The contractor was also able to easily modify the grid to accommodate the irregular shape of his space.
The Results
The EasyPave Grid has elevated Arthur’s backyard by providing a strong, attractive foundation for his furniture and firepit. He can now enjoy the space without sinking into loose gravel, and the system has even deterred his cats from digging in the area.
Arthur’s project highlights a unique way to use our paver system and demonstrates how different color options can enhance your design.
As Arthur put it: “We would definitely use the product again and recommend it to our friends. We plan to show the grid system to all our visitors.”
